Choices: Obligations Vs. Passions


I'm so glad tonight's ASA discussion "Obligations vs. Passions" turned out so well. Everyone was so open to sharing their thoughts and experiences on why/how Asian Americans (as well as other "minorities") often choose to downplay their own desires and dreams for what their parents want or what they feel their obligated to do. It was definitely really entertaining to hear everyone's comments. Wish I had more time to blog about this now, but chemistry studying to do tonight, haha. Even though I don't have time to write about people's thoughts and experiences, just wanted to post some videos/links I found while researching the "Why Chinese Mothers Are Superior" WSJ article, which we used as one of our discussion points.
